Cambridge Crossing Announces 2023 CX Summer Series Events

Cambridge Crossing, announced today the return of the popular
CX Summer Series. These annual events take place across CX’s numerous open spaces, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy free live music from local artists, free movie showings, local food and drinks, fitness classes, and more. The CX Summer Series continues its highly anticipated lineup of events including CX Fit, CX Summer Nights, CX Movie Nights, and a new event, CX Cycle Fest.
CX Cycle Fest kicks off the series on Wednesday, May 17th from 4:00pm – 6:30pm, in celebration of National Bike Month. The event includes a cycle exhibition with local cycling groups,
REI‘s Mobile Bike Shop Pop-up, a
MassBike Group Bike Ride starting and ending at CX, a Stationary Bike Spin class with
Fit Life, food, giveaways, and more! CX Cycle Fest will also be celebrating the official opening of two new community spaces within the CX neighborhood named after Cambridge Trailblazers, Alberta Scott Station Plaza, and the Kittie Knox Cycle Center.
CX Summer Nights, a free outdoor concert series, returns on Thursday, June 22nd, July 20th, and August 17th from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. In partnership with the
East Cambridge Business Association (ECBA), guests can enjoy a variety of live music by local artists, food trucks, craft cocktails and beer, lawn games, and opportunities to support the Cambridge non-profit community. CX Summer Nights is a family and pet-friendly event, all are welcome.
CX Fit, a free outdoor fitness series, is back for the 5th season running from June 10th – September 30th, every Wednesday at 6pm and every Saturday at 10am. The 2023 series features yoga and bootcamp on Wednesdays and a variety of special classes featuring instructors Alanna Perry, LIT2LIFT, Kick It by Eliza, and live DJs every Saturday. This series is free and designed for all levels.
CX Movie Nights, a free double-feature movie night, takes place on Thursday, July 27th and August 24th from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. We’re teaming up again with the
Brattle Theater and the ECBA to bring an outdoor movie watching experience like no other at CX. Families and visitors alike (including pets!) are welcome to enjoy popular films, popcorn, and food trucks. This year, we’ll be playing The Secret Life of Pets (PG) at 5:30 PM and Top Gun: Maverick (PG-13) at 7:20 PM on July 27. On August 24, we’ll show Shrek (PG) at 5:30 PM and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (PG-13) at 7:20 PM.

CX is easily accessible by two MBTA stations, including the Lechmere Green Line stop on site and the Community College Orange Line stop just a few minutes away, buses, cycling and walking paths, and ride and bike shares. Current tenants within the CX innovation hub include Bristol Myers Squibb, Philips, Sanofi, and Cerevel Therapeutics. In addition to access, CX offers a variety of amenities including cafes, a brewery, restaurants, and numerous outdoor spaces programmed throughout the year. Current retailers include Lamplighter Brewing Co., Tatte Café & Bakery, Cafe Beatrice, Geppetto, The Lexington, Bon Me (coming soon) and REI.
At completion, CX will be comprised of 4.5 million square feet of commercial, residential, and retail plus 11-acres of open and green space. Currently, 1.9 SF has been completed, and leasing for Park 151, a 20-story 468-unit multifamily building, continues.
